Android users beware, Chinese hackers are out to steal your data

Chinese cyber crime groups are being asked to use a new version of Android malware to steal user data via SMS messages. This is called FacePie, a malware sender that reads your device's contact list and account information to collect financial and request data. This new cybersecurity campaign was discovered in a search by cybercrime of the cybercrime prevention platform. The company published the results of its investigation in a report titled 'Fake Spy Masquerades as the Post Service Apps Around the World'. As a report, this Android phone malware campaign targets users of mobile postal services and travel apps worldwide. As noted in the report, Malware on Fakes goes back to 2017 and uses smoke or SMS phishing to penetrate into targeted devices. Steel Installation is based on a program called Social Engineering. When malware reaches a target device, an attacker sends out complex messages to victims who click the malicious link and then click the link to the malicious webpage. When someone clicks on these illegal links, the malicious app installs on the Android device, which controls SMS messages and steals sensitive data from that device. It can also be extended to other devices in the target list's contact list.
